To create an account with Bit Trade, you will need to meet the following criteria:
To verify your account, we will need your basic information (name, address, etc.) and an identity document, such as a drivers’ licence or passport.
If we cannot verify your identity, our team will request a secondary document, such as a utility bill. In some cases, eg: for higher buying/selling limits, we may need to ask for additional identifying documents including selfies with ID.
Identity verification protects our customers from potential fraud, and helps us fulfil our KYC, AML and CTF requirements. You can learn more about verification here.
The first time you use a bank account with us we will need to authorise the account. We are required to confirm your ownership of that account which means the account will need to be in your name. In order to ascertain this we need a copy of the most recent bank statement from the account you intend to trade with to help us complete this authorisation process. Please note: orders paid for using a bank account that has not been authorised will be delayed and may need to be cancelled if they are not from a bank account in your name.
Verification is usually completed well within 24hrs but can take up to 48 hours.
If you haven’t heard from us within 24 hours, please check your email or your account dashboard. We may have requested an additional document.
Please contact us via [email protected] if you would like more information about the progress of your account verification.
If you have a verified mobile phone number linked to your account, you can change your email address.
